This role involves MIG welding on carbon steel to create a variety of structures including bridge railings, architecturally exposed structural steel, steel tensile membrane structures, etc. The position requires knowledge of weld symbols, blueprints, MIG welding, fitting, and working with mild steel.
Responsibilities- Perform MIG welding on carbon steel to construct various structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Engage in structural welding, fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Work with materials such as carbon steel, mild steel, and stainless steel.
- Use tools and equipment including tape measures and grinders.
- Occasionally work on Saturdays as needed.
- Proficiency in MIG welding and fitting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and prints.
- Experience in structural welding and fabrication.
- Familiarity with welding and fitting techniques for carbon and mild steel.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in aluminum welding is a plus.
- Strong fitting skills are highly desirable.
- Ability to understand and execute complex blueprints and drawings.
The work environment embodies a small shop feel where teaching and coaching are integral. The company undertakes unique projects nationwide and provides a classic shop setting. Openings on 1st and 2nd shift available.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Topeka, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
