Overview
WELDER (3) Temporary Full Time Position, 4/1/26-12/31/26. Use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Repair damaged construction equipment and fabricate parts to repair equipment. Will use MIG Welder, Arc Welder, Acetylene Torch, Metal Cutoff Saw, Grinder, and other tools to make repairs on various construction equipment and fabricate metal parts to fix or enhance equipment.
Location:
Bettis Asphalt & Construction, Inc., 1800 NW Brickyard Road, Topeka, KS 66618. Daily travel to job sites located in Shawnee, Douglas, Jefferson, Osage, Franklin, Lyon, Wabaunsee, Geary, Riley, Pottawatomie, Jackson, Atchison, Brown, Nemaha counties in Kansas.
Work schedule:
8 hour workday, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 7:00 am-7:00 pm. OT available; some overtime and weekends required.
Travel & lodging:
Able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Transportation provided from Topeka, KS to worksites; optional employer-owned housing available at $115.00 per week / $230.00 per pay period. Some travel-related meals and lodging provisions described in the job order.
Wage: $24.78 per hour base. OT $37.17 per hour. Single weekly payroll computation; paid biweekly by check.

Job order is being placed in connection with future filing for H2B labor certification. Eligible within the USA for the entire work period.
- Weld or join metal components using MIG Welder, Arc Welder, acetylene torch, or brazing equipment.
- Repair damaged construction equipment and fabricate parts to repair equipment.
- Fabricate metal parts to fix or enhance various pieces of equipment.
- Perform related welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks at multiple job sites.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites in Kansas counties listed above.
- Ability to work 8 hours per day, with possible overtime and weekend work.
- Must be eligible to work in the USA for the entire contract period.
