Assistant General Manager
Location: Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas
Base pay: $23.00/hr - $23.00/hr
Hourly Rate: $22.50 |
Bonus Pay: Up to $500/month
- No degree is required. High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- 1 year of retail management experience, or previous Goodwill Retail or Warehouse experience, is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
- Leadership skills and strong problem‑solving skills.
- Comfortable with registers, scheduling, and inventory management software.
- Assist General Manager in overseeing store operations, resources, and budgets to ensure all goals and benchmarks are met or exceeded.
- Model core values to uphold a culture of safety, ethics, and quality.
- Supervise, direct, and train assigned staff to perform essential functions.
- Provide superior internal and external customer service to retain donors, shoppers, and staff.
- Coach and counsel employees and manage discipline, up to and including termination.
- Exercise independent judgment in assigning daily job duties to achieve operational tasks.
- Identify and recommend high‑performance employees for advancement.
- Safeguard company property and personal information, reporting theft, misappropriation, or unethical behavior to management, HR, or Loss Prevention.
- Read, follow, model, and enforce all agency policies, procedures, and values.
- Implement efficient staffing methods, arrange replacement for absent employees, and audit payroll.
- Eliminate wasteful practices through process improvement.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to MERS Goodwill’s dress code.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Monthly bonus up to $500
