Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Providence Living Center – Topeka, KS

We are looking to hire a full‑time and PRN Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. This rehabilitation nursing position offers a competitive salary up to $17.25/hr with a $2/hr CARES differential

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA)

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you play a vital role in our community. You provide total care for residents, starting with assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as washing, bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, walking, transferring, skin care, toileting, oral care, and catheter care. You perform care as defined by the resident plan of care or CNA assignment card, visit residents, and reposition them as required.

With a close eye for detail, you record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, and conduct range of motion as needed. You observe and report any changes in condition, attitude, reaction, appetite, and behavior. You maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements and facility policies, while building relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and colleagues.

Qualifications
  • Completed a state‑approved Nurse Aide Training Program.
  • Current Kansas certification/registration to practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Desire to work with the elderly.

Experience in a mental health nursing facility is preferred but not required.

Work Schedule

The full‑time health care position involves 12‑hour shifts, working every other weekend.

  • Week 1:
    Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday.
  • Week 2:
    Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday.
  • 3‑day weekends every other weekend.
  • Never work more than 3 days in a row.
  • 7 days off every 14 days.
  • Average 2 hours of overtime each week.
