Operator Washroom 1st shift

Overview

Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.

• Check all machine safety devices before operating equipment and record/sign the appropriate equipment safety form. If a machine does not pass safety inspection, the operator will not operate the unit and notifies the supervisor.
• When loading a washer, retrieve sling from storage and maneuver the sling to the washer’s rails and in front of the washer.
• When loading a dryer, obtain an extracted sling from the overhead feed rail and verify each batch ticket to avoid mixing lots and batches.
• Stage similar batches together for maximum product/wash utilization.
• Position washer/dryer in proper loading position (tilted up), remove batch ticket, load the washer/dryer by untying the bottom cord of the sling, place items into the washer/dryer cylinder, close doors, and start the machine; write the batch information on the machine’s display/record and enter weight information for washers (SOFTROL) or re-tie the sling and transport to the hoist staging area for dryers.
• Unload washer: open door, tilt washer forward, move cart with clean sling, remove items into the cart, place batch tickets on top, move cart to sling raise area, and tilt washer back to load position.
• Unload dryer: open the front door, ensure items are at proper moisture levels (re-dry if needed), raise the dryer front, access the rear, remove items, place batch tickets on top, store in the appropriate area, close the rear door, and leave the dryer tilted to aid loading.
• Verify proper moisture retention of items, ensure carts/tubs are not overloaded, confirm load items are at proper temperature, all extracted slings are free of excessive water, and items are properly cooled.
• Identify any slings with rips or tears and remove them from the system.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and observe best practices in all production activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic math skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule.

Work is performed in a warehouse setting and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold conditions as well as dust and noise. Work is based on a shift schedule, and may include weekends. Overtime required as needed.
