Overview

Refurbish Technician role based at the Warehouse Center in Topeka, KS with responsibilities centered on refurbishing used equipment for games and related systems.

Essential Functions
  • Performs duties in support of field services and operations; plans the complete refurbishment of used equipment.
  • Submits parts to be ordered for new and used equipment.
  • Updates and stocks parts inventory.
  • Meets timelines for all stores relating to capital objectives.
  • Develops new ideas and plans to streamline systems and improve efficiency.
  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment; maintain a safe and productive work area.
  • Manage, maintain, and organize tools and tool carts; keep personal area clean and organized.
  • Follow and perform weekly cleaning schedule to maintain shop cleanliness and organization.
  • Evaluate used equipment in preparation for game refurbishment; thoroughly clean and inspect machines for deficiencies; evaluate all game functions for proper operation.
  • Inspect game aesthetics and components for damage and repair; inspect monitors or projectors for proper operation.
  • Count and record SPT parts inventory annually; help with year-end game center inventory; assist in maintaining Average Refurb Cost and seek cost-saving opportunities.
  • Refurbish used equipment to CEC standards; dismantle games and rides to prepare for painting and retrofits; ensure refurbished items are fully operational and in like-new condition.
  • Relaminate used equipment to like-new condition; troubleshoot and repair equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Turn in all paperwork and refurb checklist in a timely manner after each game is completed.
  • Assist Technician II Specialists in troubleshooting and repairing equipment; train on refurbishing equipment; assist in setting up new equipment to CEC standards.
  • Set up equipment for existing or new locations as needed; un-crate, assemble, and test new and used equipment (games, POS, token dispensers, show systems) and remove debris if needed.
  • Provide feedback for new game discrepancies; perform other duties as directed by supervision or Corporate Management.
Essential Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical College Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years electrical experience in the gaming industry.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience—will be supervising hourly employees.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electronic repair equipment.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Must be a self-starter able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills with a professional demeanor and attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

To perform the duties of this position, the incumbent must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, reach, and lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
