The RoleWe are seeking a Technology Support Architect who is passionate about leveraging technology innovation for the betterment of humanity. This exciting customer-facing Technology Architect overlay role will work in partnership with our Sales, Solution Engineering & Customer Success Executives, leading innovative conversations that help shape the growth of our enterprise customers as they embrace the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Responsibilities- Specialized Solution Design – Serve as the go‑to expert for Solution Engineers when deep knowledge of Lumen’s WAN Technologies (DIA, IPVPN, Diversity, E‑Services) is required.
- Specialist Expertise – Provide on‑demand design, best practices and industry expertise to the sales teams during the Learn/Buy/Get phases of the customer lifecycle experience.
- Product Partnership – Partner with Product Management to recommend potential solutions and provide input on strategic and tactical plans for new product development.
- Customer Meetings – Lead and attend customer meetings, prepare and deliver technical proposals and presentations with business acumen for the audience.
- Custom Solutions – Partner with the account team to shepherd custom requirements through sign‑off process.
- Sales Enablement – Share knowledge of process, key contacts, technology and product in your area of specialization over the phone, in writing or through live trainings.
- Education – Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, related fields or equivalent industry experience.
- Work experience – 5+ years in a Pre‑Sales role responsible for needs identification, qualification and solutions design.
- Technical Knowledge – Advanced applications across multiple product areas with focus in WAN technologies (DIA, IPVPN, E‑Services) and routing protocols (deep BGP knowledge).
- Communication – Ability to lead discussions with clients across many levels, including C‑level, VPs and Directors within IT.
- Sales Ability – Proven track record of attaining sales quota through solution selling methodologies, upsell and new prospect generation.
- Problem Solving – Expert problem‑solving skills to resolve complex issues across multiple products.
- Work Style & Presentation Skills – Ability to work independently, under pressure, build strong team relationships, and present engaging proposals to customers at any level.
- Base salary range depending on location (e.g., $129,639 – $172,852 for KS, KY, MO, etc.; see detailed ranges).
