IT Technician (Help Desk I)

The Opportunity

Magellan Financial is a fast-growing partner to independent financial advisors nationwide. We move fast, we embrace technology, and we obsess over service.

In this role, you won’t be stuck in a call center reading scripts. You will be the on-site "first responder" for our internal team. You will handle everything from Windows 10/11 troubleshooting and hardware repairs to physical office build-outs (cable management, desk setups). You will report directly to the Technical Support Analyst, gaining mentorship and exposure to enterprise networking, security, and cloud systems.

This role is designed to take you from "enthusiast" to "professional sysadmin" over time.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a learner. You might not have 10 years of experience, but you have the aptitude. You know the difference between a router and a switch, you know why cable management matters, and you treat every support ticket—whether it's a CEO or an intern—with patience and urgency. You are comfortable using a power drill one minute and resetting an Active Directory password the next.

Core Qualifications
  • Required: Reliable daily commute to Topeka, KS.
  • Required: Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 troubleshooting and basic hardware repair (RAM/SSD).
  • Required: Understanding of basic networking concepts (IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Preferred: 1-2 years of help desk experience or relevant trade school/certifications.
