Key Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Comply with the facility’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
- Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Administrator, Director of Nursing or Unit Manager.
- Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Plan and implement activities to meet residents’ specific needs, including large groups, small groups, and individual participation.
- Maintain documentation as required by state and federal regulations.
- Perform initial assessment of residents, including picture and front name board.
- Compose monthly contributions, such as the monthly activities calendar, daily menu board postings, and name tag distribution.
- Monitors compliance with state and federal regulations, including blood borne pathogens, infection control, hazardous material use, and fire safety.
- Ensure compliance with residents’ rights.
Job Duties &
Physical Requirements
- Regular worksite attendance.
- High school diploma or GED (highly preferred).
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to work beyond normal hours, on weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Ability to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergencies.
- Ability to perform essential position functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must use a transfer/gait belt or assistance when lifting or carrying objects over 25 lbs.; may be required to assist residents in transfers.
- Physical requirements:
Lift up to 10 lbs. frequently; 11–25 lbs. occasionally; 26–50 lbs. rarely; 51+ lbs. not required. - Carry up to 10 lbs. frequently; 11–25 lbs. occasionally; 26–50 lbs. rarely; 51+ lbs. not required.
- Reach up to shoulder height frequently; reach below shoulder height frequently.
- Push/Pull frequently; hand manipulation (grasping) frequently; handling occasionally; torque occasionally.
- Twisting, bending, crawling, squatting, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and balancing required.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes if required and comply with company motor vehicles policy.
