Design Training Consultant

PAY RANGE: (Min-Mid)
Design Tech Training Consultant I: $54,400 - $68,00
Design Tech Training Consultant II: $66,600 - $83,200
Sr Design Tech Training Consultant: $75,300 - $100,400
Lead Design Tech Training Consultant: $88,800 - $118,400
Summary of
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and/or support curriculum, materials, and evaluations related to Design Training
* Create and maintain training materials (manuals, online training, videos, assessments, job aids, etc.) for use in virtual training, field training, and traditional classroom training
* Create and maintain curriculum for multi-year design trainee ships
* Maintain all records associated with training classes, programs, assessments, and other activities
* Accurately and efficiently investigate, research, assemble, prepare, and provide information, documents and materials, as requested
Provide instruction and support to Designers across the Delivery Division
* Serve as subject matter expert for technical design topics and skills
* Serve as instructor for virtual and in-person training on technical design related topics
* Provide individual support for design classifications across the Delivery Division
* Administer field, verbal, and written assessments
Departmental Program and Project Manager
* Administer and maintain all aspects of design training programs across the Delivery Division
* Serve as project manager for departmental projects
* Keep up to date on adult learning strategies and technologies and lead implementation of new ideas as appropriate
* Create proposals for new training programs and/or significant changes to existing programs
Education and Experience Requirements:
* This position requires a high school diploma, college degree preferred. Project management or adult learning certification preferred.
* 5 years in electric design preferred
* Distribution Design experience in the Evergy Kansas Central territory preferred
* At least 3 years of experience leading projects or programs with multiple stakeholders and deliverables
* At least 3 years of adult education or technical training experience (development and/or delivery) preferred
* Experience working with all levels and across departments within the Delivery organization
* Computer skills including usage of design-related programs, Microsoft Office programs and other software programs are necessary
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Required:
* Design skills including, but not limited to: line extensions, residential and commercial services, multi-plat subdivisions or commercial buildings, large commercial/industrial developments, system integrity projects as identified by Engineering, Federal/State/City road widening/improvement projects
* Proficiency in mapping, network design, drafting, construction drawing and general system operations
* In-depth knowledge of Evergy Construction Standards, Evergy Service Standards, and processes related to Design
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, and other corporate systems
* Knowledge of adult learning principles and ability to apply those principles to training development and delivery
* Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
* Ability to successfully collaborate with employees from all levels and areas within the Company
* Strong program/project management skills
