Our Client, a specialty contractor in road barriers and markings is seeking to add a Estimator to their team in Topeka, KS. The Estimator plays a crucial role in ensuring that projects are financially feasible and well-planned before origin. This work helps guide decision-making and keeps projects within budget. This is a full-time role that pays a salary in the $125K-$150K range, includes a quarterly bonus program adding $20K+, and commissions that add another $10K-$20K making “all in” compensation around the $170K-$180K mark.
This role also offers strong benefit package – Health, Dental and Vision covered at 80% - and a 401K plan that sees a 20% reinvestment in the employee.
The key to this role is recent and relevant experience in the road construction arena estimating and budgeting projects in general construction of pavement marking.
The incumbent will:
- Assess costs and resources needed for projects for a successful outcome for the client and company.
- Build accurate, reliable, and competitive estimates for Traffic Control and Pavement Marking.
- Ensure thoroughness and accuracy in all tasks.
- Identify, prioritize and balance tasks and activities to ensure estimates are completed and delivered on time.
- Organize and clearly communicate information between clients and field personnel.
- Resolve issues in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- 5+ years experience in road construction or pavement marking industry
- 5+ years experience completing trades/construction projects pertaining to reading plans, material, labor, equipment, time requirements and contracts.
- 5+ years budgeting or estimating projects in the general construction industry, preferably related to horizontal road construction.
- Superior understanding of blueprints (read and comprehend).
- Knowledge of scheduling work teams and material.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite of tools to include Excel, Word, Outlook
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
