Production Manager, Operations Engineer, Manufacturing Production
The Production Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing production activities within a contract manufacturing environment. This role ensures production schedules align with customer demand, forecasts, and inventory targets while maximizing resource efficiency. The position works cross‑functionally with manufacturing partners, supply chain, procurement, logistics, and sales to maintain smooth production flow and on‑time delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with customer orders, forecasts, and inventory levels
- Manage day‑to‑day coordination with contract manufacturers to ensure production plans meet targets and timelines
- Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure availability of raw materials and components
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent shortages or excess stock
- Adjust production plans to address changes in customer demand and forecast fluctuations
- Analyze production capacity, identify constraints or bottlenecks, and recommend mitigation strategies
- Coordinate with production, procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure alignment and clear communication
- Prioritize production orders based on customer requirements, deadlines, and resource availability
- Track and report KPIs related to production efficiency, on‑time delivery, and inventory turnover
- Identify production risks (supply disruptions, capacity issues, equipment constraints) and support contingency planning
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar manufacturing planning role
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Proficiency with production planning tools and ERP systems
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
up to $90k+
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
