Title: Lead Production Technician
Starting Pay: $20.00/hr
Location: Tooele, UT
Job Type: Full Time | Non-Exempt
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
What You’ll DoAs a Lead Production Technician at Curaleaf, you’ll oversee daily filling and packaging operations while guiding your team to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality cannabis products. You’ll take ownership of shift execution, production flow, and inventory accuracy while keeping the team focused on the ultimate goal: getting units out the door safely, efficiently, and with consistent quality. In this role, you will:
- Lead a team of Packaging Technicians in daily production tasks including filling, weighing, sealing, labeling, and packaging a variety of cannabis products
- Maintain proficiency in all filling and packaging tasks to support the team and ensure work meets Curaleaf’s standards for quality, safety, and compliance
- Manage daily production performance from startup through shutdown, driving key metrics such as quantity, quality, and productivity
- Ensure accurate data entry, batch documentation, and compliant product tracking within the state’s seed-to-sale system (Dutchie)
- Troubleshoot routine equipment or process issues and ensure tools and resources are clean, organized, and ready for use
- Train, coach, and support team members to uphold SOPs, safe work practices, and consistent production outcomes
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align on production schedules, workflow needs, and daily output goals
- Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure each product is properly filled, sealed, labeled, and prepared for compliant storage
- Maintain clear, timely inventory of all materials and finished goods to support planning and operational efficiency
- Experience leading or mentoring a production or manufacturing team, ideally 12+ employees, with a strong sense of accountability and team development
- At least 6 months of hands-on filling and packaging experience in a regulated or quality-focused environment, with an emphasis on compliance, consumer safety, and product integrity
- Clear, calm communication skills and strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- The ability to follow production plans, adapt to shifting priorities, and meet daily output goals
- A mechanical mindset with the ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot filling, sealing, and measurement equipment
- Comfort working with weights, measurements, and basic calibration tasks
- A dependable, honest, and collaborative approach that supports both individual and team success
- A proactive work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time (8-10 hours per shift)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance
- Frequent and repetitive use of hands and wrists for extended periods of time
- Repetitive bending, squatting, and reaching
- Ability to climb ladders or step stools to access plants or equipment
- Ability to use required PPE when required, such as masks, hair nets, beard covers, respirators, boot covers, scrubs, non-slip shoes, and Tyvek suits as necessary
- Exposure to environments with high humidity, varying temperatures, and strong odors (such as cannabis)
- Exposure to soil, water, fertilizer, dust, pollen and plant pathogens
