Pay

Pay: $27-30 for Associate; $30-35 for fully licensed

Additionally, this position may be eligible for a travel stipend of $15.00 per shift if the employee resides outside of Tooele County.

Schedule

Schedule: Typically, hours within the Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm framework. Flexibility in days/time worked is required to facilitate group meetings and accommodate client schedules. Some evening/weekend work may be required.

General Purpose

The Clinical Therapist provides mental health services to clients including individual, family, and group therapy for residents of the Shelter and individuals at community sites. The Clinical Therapist provides clients with the emotional support needed during their time at the Shelter and referrals when they exit the Shelter. For clients served at the community sites, appropriate referrals will be made after a maximum of 15 sessions with the Clinical Therapist.

The SVS clinical team provides therapy in our Tooele Shelter and at our Community Advocacy Center in Tooele County.

This position is based at our Tooele Shelter and will provide in-person services for clients in both Tooele and Salt Lake Counties, with priority given to Tooele service sites approximately 2.5 days a week. In-person presence every Wednesday in West Jordan is required. Client services may be done remotely or in person as needed.

South Valley Services (SVS) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide options to anyone who has experienced domestic and sexual violence. SVS provides free and confidential services including emergency shelter, safe housing, trauma-informed counseling, advocacy, and tools for life.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical services including but not limited to: individual, child, family, and group therapy; and crisis intervention.
  • Schedule and complete intake assessments with Shelter residents and community clients.
  • Formulate, write, and follow treatment plan for each client.
  • Create/maintain accurate and professional treatment documentation and client notes and submit by established deadlines.
  • Provide clinical support/training to Resident Advocates and develop their crisis management skills.
  • Demonstrate support for/practice SVS strategic imperative of being part of a 360-degree, trauma-informed organization.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of all client, employee, and donor information.
  • Maintain professional ethical standards and appropriate professional boundaries with clients, employees, volunteers, donors, and vendors.
  • Perform CPR and administer First Aid as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide mentorship for clinical interns.
  • Assist with training/presentation for all-staff training and other departmental meetings.
  • Provide support/education on clinical-related issues to other departments upon request.
  • Attend required SVS meetings and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.
  • Fully licensed LCSW, CMHC, or MFT or provisionally licensed CSW or ACMHC.
  • Experience (minimum one year) working with clients who have experienced trauma.
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic and psycho educational groups.
  • Experience working with co-occurring disorders and trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with SVS staff from multiple departments, community partners, and clients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally and with fluency in English.
  • Ability to work remotely and/or at community sites with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills including the ability to manage client caseloads and other projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Achieve and maintain eligible status on Direct Access Clearance System (DACS) Background Check.
