Role OverviewTeaching Personnel are recruiting Unqualified Teaching Assistants to work in a friendly, well‑established all‑through school in Tonypandy, supporting pupils across primary and secondary age groups. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands‑on school experience, particularly those with an interest in behaviour support and pupil wellbeing.
Responsibilities- Support pupils in classroom activities across primary and secondary phases
- Help pupils to stay focused, regulated and engaged in learning
- Provide 1:1 or small‑group support, particularly for pupils who may need extra encouragement
- Assist with behaviour management strategies and classroom routines
- Support pupils with additional learning needs such as SEMH, ADHD or ASD (training provided)
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote confidence and progress
- Work alongside teachers and experienced support staff to create a calm learning environment
- Patient, calm and confident working with children or young people
- Interested in education, behaviour support or child development
- Able to follow guidance and work as part of a team
- Reliable, adaptable and willing to learn on the job
- Experienced in care, youth work, coaching, childcare or customer‑facing roles (helpful but not essential)
- Passionate about making a positive difference in pupils’ lives
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
- Enhanced DBS (or Update Service)
- Two recent, relevant references
- Competitive daily pay – £89.38 per day (£13.75ph)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
