Edu Talent Group are recruiting a Residential Support Officer to support residential students in a further education environment in Tonbridge. The role focuses on ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and personal development of students living on site, while helping them engage fully in both academic and enrichment activities. This is a hands-on position offering the opportunity to make a real difference in students’ lives.

Key Duties:

* Provide pastoral care and support for students in residential accommodation.

* Plan, deliver, and oversee enrichment activities to support students’ personal and social development.

* Support students in developing independent living skills and achieving academic targets.

* Monitor attendance, behaviour, and progress, liaising with academic staff and additional support teams.

* Maintain safeguarding standards and compliance with statutory guidance, including reporting incidents and concerns.

* Conduct regular checks of accommodation blocks and communal areas, ensuring health and safety standards are met.

* Respond to emergencies, including fire alarms and student welfare concerns.

* Act as a positive role model, modelling professional behaviour and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.

Skills and Experience:

* Level 3 qualification or equivalent;
Level 2 in English and maths.

* First Aid and safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain).

* Experience working with young people in residential, educational, or mentoring roles.

* Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following a shift rota.

* Full, clean driving licence.(desirable)

* Flexible, calm, and professional approach to challenging situations.
