Field Services Technician

The primary purpose of this position is to prepare bottle orders for sampling, coordinate shipping and deliveries, and provide ALS clients with all necessary sample pick‑ups and drop‑offs.

Responsibilities
  • Duties will be split between bottle prep department and field services.
  • Issue bottles to clients based on requested testing.
  • Order and stock bottles for various laboratory testing and client needs.
  • Drive in assigned territories as directed by supervisor and pick‑up samples and deliver them to the Toms River Office.
  • Provide ALS clients with all necessary sampling activities, sample pick‑ups and drop‑offs.
  • Store all samples in a cooler with ice and deliver to ALS Sample Receiving.
  • Provide an accurate and completed chain of custody record of any sample in your possession.
  • Convey any ALS client requests or concerns to the Field Services Supervisor or appropriate Customer Service Representative.
  • Maintain routine vehicle maintenance, including fluid checks and/or replacements, exterior and interior cleaning of company vehicle.
  • Ensure compliance with field service sampling plan, assigned SOPs, QA manual and ALS Client Service Manual.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct toward ALS staff and clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle.
  • Knowledge of the region and ability to read maps.
  • Accountable for meeting goals and objectives; willing to take ownership and seek new ways to accomplish tasks.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Multitasked, organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of problem solving with good time‑management skills.
  • Self‑motivated and self‑directed; able to work independently.
  • Possible travel to additional labs in other areas.
  • High school education.
  • Interest in science helpful but not required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a courier, driver, messenger, or related position.
Physical Demands
  • Speak and hear clearly while communicating with co‑workers, department team members, management, and clients.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. consistently (dolly may be used for heavy loads).
  • Sit, drive, and walk for 100% of an 8‑hour day.
  • Drive and get in and out of the vehicle.
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate vehicle, computer, and other equipment.
  • Average vision; able to read reports and operate vehicle and office equipment.
