Description

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for seasonal Team Lead(s) for their 24/7 program. The Team Lead assists Mentors and guests, providing quality services, and maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of the center. The Cooling Center provides emergency all-day and overnight shelter for the unhoused during the summer heat, offering a cool, safe place for individuals to spend the day or night during the summer season.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Greet guests and make them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Be a positive role model through professional behavior and communication.
• Assist Mentors in prioritizing work assignments and team service planning as directed by the supervisor.
• Provide a safe and healthy environment through education, guidance, and personal interaction.
• Responsible for guest safety, providing crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Must adhere to staffing schedules to ensure adequate and safe staffing coverage to meet program objectives.

Available Shifts

• 6pm - 12am
• 12am - 6am (overnight)

Requirements

• High School diploma / GED and 2+ years working at a nonprofit OR
• Bachelor’s degree in a mental health discipline.
• Proficient in MS Office products and general computer literacy.
• Valid NJ Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage crises.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
• Bilingual skills are a plus!
• Lived experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring individuals who use their own life experience with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
