Job Overview

The Food Service Worker Lead performs a wide variety of routine tasks in kitchen, tray line, and dishwashing areas according to standard practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring customer needs and satisfaction are met.

Qualifications

Preferred:
Previous food service experience.

Scheduling Requirements
  • Variable shifts such as 5:45 am–2:15 pm, 7:00 am–3:30 pm, and 9:30 am–6:00 pm
  • Varying weekends and holidays
  • Full time
Essential Functions
  • Assist in care and maintenance of work area equipment and supplies
  • Check patient tray lines for accuracy and neatness
  • Clean and sanitize work area and equipment
  • Clean carts and return them to the kitchen area
  • Collect, process, and dispose of trash, cans, bottles, and recyclables to disposal areas properly
  • Complete checklist for immediate work areas and submit to supervisor
  • Deliver & pick up trays to patients according to department policy
  • Inform nursing personnel when a patient needs assistance or has a question that the food service worker cannot answer
  • Listen to patients and communicate their concerns to the Diet Office
  • Monitor associates' breaks
  • Order paper & linen supplies as needed
  • Perform opening & closing duties, with the exception of cash handling, when the supervisor is not available
  • Perform general routine cleaning duties and non‑round duties as directed
  • Prepare, load, and transport food trucks
  • Properly strip trucks, scrape plates, and pre‑soak silverware
  • Record all equipment temperatures, and record all food temperatures for each tray line
  • Scrape, scour, and rinse pots, utensils, and equipment
  • Serve on tray assembly line in assigned position involving duties such as starter, server, soups, dessert, hot beverages
  • Wash pots and pans and perform heavy cleaning duties
  • When supervisors are not available, enter mis‑o‑grams to plant operations
  • When supervisors are not available, fill out & sign incident reports
