Assistant General Manager

Schedule: Monday through Friday, Standard Business Hours

We are seeking an experienced, driven, and hands‑on Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team. This role is critical to the success of daily operations and serves as a key partner to the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of store performance. The Assistant General Manager helps ensure smooth operations, strong financial performance, high levels of customer satisfaction, and a positive, productive work environment for associates.
The ideal candidate is a confident leader with strong operational instincts, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to drive results through collaboration, accountability, and effective people management.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership & Store Management
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing all areas of store operations, including front‑end functions and individual departments
- Ensure smooth daily operations and consistent execution of operational standards
- Maintain store sanitation and cleanliness in compliance with local health and safety regulations
Sales Performance & Financial Management
- Drive sales performance while ensuring cost control and operational efficiency
- Optimize labor utilization and scheduling to align with business needs and maximize productivity
- Support workforce planning, scheduling, and coordination of in‑store events
Team Leadership & Development
- Collaborate with department managers to set objectives, monitor performance, and achieve store targets
- Provide leadership, coaching, and ongoing support to associates and supervisors
- Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and high performance
- Support employee engagement, training, performance reviews, and development initiatives
Merchandising & Brand Standards
- Ensure effective execution of weekly sales flyers and in‑store merchandising initiatives
- Partner with the Corporate Audit team to maintain merchandising, product placement, and presentation standards
- Monitor inventory flow and presentation to support sales and customer experience
Customer Experience & Issue Resolution
- Interact directly with customers to address concerns, resolve complaints, and enhance the overall shopping experience
- Ensure high standards of customer service throughout the store
- Act as a visible leader on the sales floor
Corporate Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate with the Corporate Liaison regarding employee relations, training, reviews, and engagement activities
- Support compliance with company policies and procedures
- Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to operational planning
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a large retail or wholesale environment
- Proven ability to lead teams with professionalism, authority, and creativity
- Strong decision‑making, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire, and develop team members
- Customer‑focused mindset with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional service
- Experience driving sales growth, process improvement, and operational efficiency
