Collaborative Support Programs of NJ (CSPNJ) is looking for a seasonal Warming Center Manager. The position is located in Ocean, NJ and focuses on providing emergency overnight shelter for the unhoused during winter months.

Description

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, needs a manager to oversee operational needs, ensure program objectives are completed, and maintain safety and cleanliness. The Warming Center operates from November through March.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the center’s operational day-to-day activities, including development, planning, and implementation of all program components; building operations and maintenance oversight; community monitoring; and all other center activities.
• Supervise and delegate to the Mentor team, ensuring guest activities are responded to in a timely manner.
• Ensure guest safety, providing crisis intervention and de‑escalation techniques when needed.
• Adhere to staffing schedules to provide adequate and safe coverage to accomplish program objectives.

Requirements

• High School diploma / GED + 4 years working at a nonprofit or Bachelor’s degree in a mental health discipline.
• 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Proficient in Excel, MS Office, and general computer literacy.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage crises.
• Time and project management skills.
• Analytical skills to identify problems, trends, and develop solutions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring, professional manner.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
