The Certified Medical Assistant assists in providing clinical care to selected patients under the supervision of a professional nurse or licensed medical practitioner and provides clerical office assistance at our Mule Road location.
Some early evenings and once‑a‑month weekends will be required.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms, supplies, and instruments.
- Prepare patients for physician visits and examinations as directed.
- Takes patients' vital signs and records them in the medical chart.
- Understands proper function and care of special equipment.
- Performs EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab testing as indicated after a performance evaluation checklist completion.
- Maintains records by completing patient records as directed; files records and reports.
- Assists with collections and billing procedures as needed.
- Uses computer software to maintain office systems.
- Identifies and responds to confidentiality issues.
- Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired).
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Lifts and pushes a minimum of 5 lbs., stands for a minimum of 1 hour a day.
- High School diploma or equivalent such as a GED.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with varying populations.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred).
- Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent certification.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (HCP) Certification.
Starting at $23.27 per hour. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted rate of pay is a good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role and does not reflect the full value of our total rewards package.
Additional compensation may include performance‑based incentives, bonuses, shift differentials for evening, night, or weekend shifts, and a comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, retirement).
