Position: Advisor/Case Manager (Title II Grant)
This position provides advising services and case management to adult students wishing to obtain a high school equivalency diploma and/or increase their basic education skills.;
This position provides assistance with the registration process and the selection of an appropriate class placement, career pathways, and/or post-secondary education. This position also maintains confidential student records and case files and supports the Adult Education & Workforce Preparation Program by providing advice and guidance to students on resources that are available to assist with their transition to the workforce or post-secondary education/training.
This position also maintains confidential case files and all related student records and is expected to adhere to all required processes and procedures set forth by the College and per state and federal guidelines. This position requires data management set forth by the College and the Dept. of Labor.;
This position requires a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities
Advises students about appropriate class placements, goal identification, and assessments; and strives to provide guidance on campus and external support services geared to accommodate individual student ?barriers to learning? and ensures that all guidelines are met for students with special needs.Provides holistic advising for students, guiding students throughout their time at the College; assists students in exploring options, setting goals, and creating a plan to achieve desired outcomes; communicates proactively with students throughout all phases of the student experience.Maintains confidential class and student records for the College and ensures they remain secure; assists with student registration and career readiness activities.Documents case notes for students requiring planned case conferencing and management activities; maintains correspondence with various human service agencies and refers students to appropriate community resources.Collects, inputs, and analyzes literacy data for the Program to include student registrations and reports on progress; prepares and submits student recruitment and retention reports; tracks, monitors and collaborates with instructors in the assessment of student progress and the delivery of post-test requirements/needs.Assists with the delivery of student orientation sessions for all Basic Skills programs; participates in the delivery of instructor and professional development training as necessary; participates in seminars, committees and training sessions to keep abreast of policy changes and their impact on local programs.Performs semester closeout activities to include tabulation of student contact hours, grading out classes, etc.; monitors and assesses instructional time recorded on the class rosters; conducts internal audits of class files to verify completeness and accuracyParticipates in the implementation of retention strategies and reporting.Connects students with appropriate support services such as, advising and wrap-around services, such as case management, childcare, transportation support, life skills and employment assistance to AE/ELA students.Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications
Bachelor's DegreeTwo years of directly related experience in a student services, teaching or counselling area of an educational environment that required excellent interpersonal and student service skillsAbility to serve as a team/project leader and/or assist with the supervision of othersExperience preparing workshops and giving presentations to adult learners in-person and virtually.Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to create standard documents and reports and well as prior database experienceAbility to meet flexible work schedule requirements that include evening and weekend hours in accordance with departmental needs.One or more years of experience advising students for adult education, ESL, and literacy.Bilingual in Spanish.Experience with the following systems:
