Adjunct Faculty provide course instruction in a manner that ensures student comprehension, retention of knowledge, and positive student engagement. This position requires an understanding of course content, instructional and communication methods, and adherence to established syllabi, policies, and teaching standards.

Classification: Adjunct Association

Instructional Duration: Semester Based

AY25 Salary: $900 / semester hour

Responsibilities:
  • Hold classes at all scheduled times, including the last class, and meet all college policies and standards.
  • Follow course delivery requirements outlined in official descriptions, syllabi, and schedules; submit a course syllabus for approval at least seven days prior to the start.
  • Attend departmental meetings and serve on search committees as directed.
  • Provide recommendations on textbook selection to the School Dean.
  • Grade student assignments and exams within 5 days; submit final grades within 48 hours after the last class; remain available to students during the week after grades are posted.
  • Participate in student learning outcomes assessment as directed.
  • Follow all attendance and absence policies outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
  • Maintain Canvas shells for classes, including attendance, grades, and communication.
  • Complete assigned projects and duties.
    • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Master’s Degree in the discipline, or
    • Master’s in a different discipline with 18+ graduate credits in the field, or
    • Master’s in a different discipline plus professional experience/certification, or
    • Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years of related professional experience and certification/licensure.
  • Experience teaching at high school or college level, or as a trainer/group presenter.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Recent technology experience relevant to the position.
