Plumber

Position Description The Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems across a variety of government facilities, including parks, community centers, and other public buildings. This role requires technical expertise, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to service excellence. Duties and Responsibilities:

* Estimate, install, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, commodes, sinks, and faucets; clear and maintain drain lines.
* Install and repair outdoor plumbing infrastructure, including drinking fountains, splash pads, and water features.
* Support seasonal maintenance by winterizing or reactivating plumbing systems in outdoor facilities.

* Assist with emergency response efforts, such as water shut-offs or flood mitigation, during facility-related incidents or severe weather events.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job for reporting and compliance purposes.
* Coordinate with other trades (e.g., electricians, HVAC technicians, general contractors) to ensure seamless project execution.
* Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes and regulations.
* Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices and regulatory requirements.
* Operate a personal or county vehicle to travel to various job sites as required.
* Provide guidance and training to less experienced team members; support team operations and perform additional duties as assigned.
* Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies and service needs.

Requirements

Education:

* High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:

* A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in plumbing maintenance and repair within commercial or industrial facilities. Licensures:
* Current Journeyman Plumber License.
* Must possess or obtain one of the following within one year of employment: *

Master Plumber License, or
* Backflow Prevention License, or
* Journeyman Plumber License (if not already held).
* Valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record.
