Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Tomball, Texas. This position is Monday‑Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call.

What

does the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do?

Under minimal supervision the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, developmental, and age‑specific differences in the patient population, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and therapeutically manage patient/family needs. The RN supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Oncology Clinic RN:
    • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
    • Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
    • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
    • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitates clinical operations and patient care
    • Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
    • Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
