Role PurposeThe Facilities Engineering Supervisor leads a team that operates, maintains, and improves all mechanical and building engineering systems for a 700,000 sq. ft. advanced manufacturing facility supporting high-volume solar panel production lines.
This role involves supervising mechanical and controls technicians, ensuring all work meets safety standards and operational requirements, and supporting projects that align with the organization’s goals for energy efficiency, comfort, and reliability. The supervisor ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all facility systems, drives preventive and predictive maintenance programs, leads system upgrade projects, and partners closely with operations and engineering to support 24/7 production.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee operation and reliability of facility mechanical systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressed air, process utilities, and plumbing.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop mechanical, HVAC, and controls technicians.
- Plan daily/weekly work assignments and ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Lead performance management, training, and development activities.
- Build and maintain a strong safety and teamwork culture.
- Ensure systems consistently support manufacturing environmental requirements.
- Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Oversee Building Automation System (BAS) operation including ability to troubleshoot controls issues.
- Lead projects to support mechanical system upgrades, renovations, and energy‑efficiency projects.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project scopes.
- Coordinate project schedules and deliverables with vendors and contractors to ensure smooth execution of technical work.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulatory requirements, and internal safety standards.
- Conduct inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
