STS Line Maintenance is hiring A&P Mechanics to support aircraft line maintenance operations in Toledo, Ohio. This leadership role places experienced A&P mechanics at the center of day to day maintenance operations, ensuring aircraft are maintained to the highest safety and airworthiness standards while supporting airline partners across a fast paced operational environment.

The A&P Mechanic works directly with maintenance shift managers, airline maintenance controllers, and flight crews while overseeing line maintenance technicians during routine and overnight aircraft maintenance operations. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

STS Line Maintenance operates one of the largest aircraft line maintenance networks in the United States, providing rapid response maintenance support across a nationwide footprint.

Position Overview

The Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician supports the daily needs of aircraft maintenance operations while delivering reliable, high quality maintenance support to airline customers operating through the Toledo, Ohio station.

This role combines hands on maintenance responsibilities with leadership duties, ensuring technicians operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with FAA regulations and company operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee line maintenance operations including daily maintenance and RON aircraft maintenance
  • Work closely with airline customers, flight crews, and maintenance controllers to coordinate maintenance activities
  • Ensure aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards prescribed by FAA regulations, aircraft technical data, and company procedures
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair transport category aircraft airframes and engines using hand tools and test equipment
  • Direct, coach, and mentor assigned line maintenance technicians
  • Maintain the highest levels of quality, safety, and operational integrity
  • Complete, enter, and submit required operational reports and documentation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by maintenance shift managers or station management
  • Work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current and valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant license (A&P) with no history of infractions
  • Minimum of 3 years aircraft maintenance leadership experience
  • Previous experience in an overhaul or aircraft line maintenance environment preferred
Technical and Operational Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and technical specifications
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Own a standard set of aircraft line maintenance tools (specialized and calibrated tooling provided)
  • Basic to intermediate computer and organizational skills
Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to work standing or stooping for extended periods
  • Ability to access and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs as required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Compliance Requirements
  • Ability to pass background check and drug and alcohol screening
  • Ability to obtain Customs and Border Protection clearance
  • Eligibility to receive an airport security badge
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Schedule
  • Must be willing and able to work assigned shifts
  • Station operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
  • Schedules may include:
  • 4 days per week, 10 hour shifts
  • 3 days per week, 13.3 hour shifts
  • Days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
