General Labor Summer Intern

The Summer General Labor Intern will help with general labor duties throughout our building material yard.

• Perform general labor duties including mowing, weed eating, painting, power washing, stacking brick and block.
• Assist in hand loading or unloading delivery trucks.
• Replenishes shelves in the showroom with building materials, accessory items and promotional materials.
• Assist in concrete forming area. Duties to include cleaning and stacking concrete forms.
• Producing color for concrete jobs.
• Producing Decorative Concrete Samples:
  Mixing and placing concrete, stamping, coloring, and sealing samples.
• In-person attendance is required.

• May be assigned additional tasks and duties by management.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions as needed, including heat, cold, and rainy conditions.
• Safely access and navigate the facility, including climbing and descending ladders.
• The position may work outside of normal business hours.
• Prolonged periods of standing.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers is essential.
• Represent The Gerken Companies to customers in a professional manner, supporting the company’s goals.

• Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school is required .
