DUTIES:
This position requires varied mechanical maintenance in the repair, replacement, or installation of parts, fixtures, appliances, and structures. Primary responsibility is the use of proper methods, tools, and materials; be able to perform work without close supervision. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor.
- Replacing windows, window glass and door screens.
- Preparing interior and exterior surfaces for painting and applying appropriate finishes to such surfaces.
- Patch plastering.
- Repair / replace cabinets.
- Repairing gutters and downspouts.
- Repairing water faucets, closet tanks and bowls.
- Repairing electric switches and outlets.
- Operating equipment.
- Installing and repairing plumbing fixtures.
- Ability to assist in turning units, to make ready in decent, safe and sanitary condition.
- Ability to perform on-call, emergency, and after hours work as needed.
- Assist with maintaining grounds.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of the standard practices, tools, materials and safety involved in the trades related to general building and grounds maintenance. Skill in the care of tools and equipment employed in building and maintenance repair work. Must have at least three years of experience. Ability to work effectively with fellow employees and others. Sufficient physical strength to perform tasks consistently and satisfactorily.
Must be able to drive, have a current Operator's License and insurable driving record, be bondable, and have high school diploma or GED.
