Duties- Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge and help with the selection of merchandise.
- React to all concerns of customers quickly with a sense of importance.
- Sell merchandise and provide outstanding customer service, including demonstration and explanation of technical features.
- Take periodic stock counts and may participate in inventories.
- Replenish stock and maintain merchandise in a neat and presentable condition.
- Advise supervisor/department head of customer requests.
- Receive cash, checks, credit, debit, and gift cards in payment for merchandise and give change accurately using the cash register.
- Maintain record of sales; at the end of shift count till, turn in sales records, money, stamps, customer checks or charge slips, and account for all monies and items sold.
- Perform price changes for various departments, including markdowns or markups, and set company promotions; ensure proper display and signage.
- Follow all policies regarding Loss Prevention and be aware of shrink and the Alert Line.
- Follow all established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
- Work weekends as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must have the following availability: 7:15 a.m.–3:45 p.m., Monday–Friday.
Minimum Qualifications Required- Potential to stock merchandise, assist patrons, and operate a cash register; ability to read, comprehend, and explain product literature; count, subtract, multiply, and divide for stocking and inventory purposes, evidenced by high‑school coursework, GED, or high‑school diploma.
- Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience.
