The University of Toledo Physicians is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) (Physician Assistant OR acute care certified Nurse Practitioner) to join the Department of Surgery
, focusing on Trauma Surgery at the University of Toledo Medical Center
, a reputable Level II Trauma Center
. This role involves providing in-house call coverage for Trauma
, Surgical ICU
, General Surgery
, and Vascular Surgery services.

The schedule includes night shift coverage (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM), and may involve weekends and holidays
.

Highlights of the role:

• Responding to level II and level I trauma activations
• Admitting surgical patients requiring inpatient care
• Performing bedside procedures after appropriate training
• Coordinating care with attending physicians
• Participating in daily multidisciplinary rounds

For Nurse Practitioners:

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program

• Current Ohio Board of Nursing Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner

• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner

• Acute Care Certification

• Current BLS and ATLS certifications (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

For Physician Assistants:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program

• Current Ohio Board of Medicine Licensure as a Physician Assistant

• National certification as a Physician Assistant

• Current BLS and ATLS certifications (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

• Eligible to obtain and/or maintain Certificate to Prescribe and DEA licensure
