Bilingual Outreach Worker
Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO), a non-profit law firm, is hiring two Outreach Workers to support the attorneys by conducting outreach to agricultural workers and their families throughout Ohio. Each year more than 30,000 agricultural workers and family members work in Ohio, largely in hand‑harvest crops including cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and peppers, as well as in packing sheds, grading stations, nurseries, greenhouses, and food processing plants.
Job Responsibilities- The primary responsibility is to visit agricultural labor camps and other housing sites throughout Ohio to inform workers about our services and accept applications for legal assistance.
- The position is full‑time, temporary from mid‑May 2026 through mid‑August 2026, with a possible extension.
- Schedules include daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours, occasional overnight outreach trips, and an overnight training.
- Valid driver’s license, insurable, and access to an automobile. LAWO may provide a car, but vehicles may be required and travel expenses are reimbursed.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Excellent organizational and writing skills.
- Ability to relate well with clients and community groups.
- Computer proficiency.
- Strong commitment to equity and justice.
The Outreach Workers will be located in LAWO’s Findlay or Toledo office.
CompensationPay is $22.50 per hour.
Employment StatusNon‑exempt; 35‑40 hours per week.
