Position Overview: The Material Handler provides support for the production line at our coil coating factory in Toledo, Ohio. The position will interact closely with all aspects of the manufacturing process from the raw material to the finished product. This is a hands on position that will be required to cover a variety of duties and responsibilities in this continuous operation.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Daily inspection of forklifts
- Supply the line with raw product (using FIFO method), moving finished product to the shipping area.
- Weighing and emptying scrap hoppers, drums and totes at the line
- Stage coils for coil pack while checking damage skids
- Check proper paperwork
- Keep work area clean
- Participate in safety and other training programs as required.
- Operate Forklift. Experience is required.
- Other duties assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Basic computer skills a must
- Strong mechanical skills
- Flexibility and willingness to work an off shift and OT hours, possibly during the week or on weekends
- Ability to perform math functions and comprehend complex verbal and written instructions
- Pass pre-employment testing, (drug test, physical and background check)
Preferred Requirements:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Exposure to production environment preferred
Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach
- Ability to work independently or with a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to work an off shift and OT hours, possibly during the week or on weekends
