Summary
The Store Manager oversees the store’s sales efforts in each department, supervises overall operations to ensure efficiency and profitability, and upholds the company’s policies and standards. The Manager consistently communicates with the District Sales Manager and the Store Support Center to drive initiatives and business growth, and represents the company’s brand through appearance, attitude, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities- Drive store sales and achieve sales goals, focusing on company growth.
- Manage and protect the store’s assets, including inventory and cash.
- Direct and oversee all sales activities in the store and train associates in sales strategies.
- Stay constantly acquainted with sales statistics, inventory, expenses, and profit drivers.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager to set and enforce policies, goals, and procedures.
- Direct staff to ensure all departmental responsibilities and standards are met.
- Mentor and cultivate a high‑performing team of Sales Associates, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training.
- Handle recruitment, hiring, training, discipline, evaluation, payroll, and scheduling to meet labor goals.
- Maintain store security and partner with Asset Protection to reduce theft and shrink.
- Communicate inventory movements and strategies to the District Sales Manager.
- Execute marketing and advertising plans and stay aware of customer trends.
- Monitor competition, adopt new ideas, and engage with community events for opportunities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service per the customer service manual, assisting multiple customers during peak periods.
- Safeguard company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks.
- Manage subordinate supervisors and non‑management employees, including Sales Associates, Hub Drivers, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training, and direct overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, train, plan, assign, direct work, appraise performance, reward, discipline, and resolve complaints and problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- Experience managing and cultivating a sales team.
- 3–5 years of customer service experience and 3+ years of management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Analytical thinker with demonstrated business acumen.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
