POSITION SUMMARY
The Application Support Administrator is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and support of critical business applications. This position will work with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the application and ensure that it is available and functioning as required. In addition, the Application Support Administrator will also be responsible for managing the software vendor and facilitating necessary software upgrades, patches, and testing.
ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS
- Manages and supports critical business applications to ensure that they are available and functioning as required.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to the application and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement solutions.
- Configures and maintains application settings and user accounts.
- Performs software upgrades, patches, and testing to ensure that the application is up-to-date and secure.
- Maintains documentation on application configuration, changes, and issue resolution.
- Communicates effectively with stakeholders to ensure that they are informed about application updates and changes.
- Provides training and support to end‑users to help them effectively use the application.
- Monitors application performance and proactively identifies and addresses issues with the vendor or other internal resources.
- Participates in the requirements gathering, configuration and implementation of new business applications as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of
- Business application support, including software installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Software upgrades, patches, and testing processes.
- Organizing, completing, and reporting on projects.
- Composing clear, concise, and informative documents.
- Handling difficult situations in a tactful and professional manner.
- Analyzing complex problems, evaluating alternatives and making sound recommendations.
- Using the internet, remote communications, and other advanced tools to increase productivity and perform job functions.

- Effectively utilize computers, automated systems and related software applications.

- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; speak in public.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers, superiors, vendor representatives and clients.
- Multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in application support, administration or a similar role.
- Experience or knowledge of SQL and scripting is a plus.
- Experience or knowledge of ITIL processes is a plus.
