Therapeutic Program Worker (Behavioral Health Therapeutic Aide)
Hospital Northfield, Ohio – Full Time
Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is looking for a dedicated Therapeutic Program Worker to provide essential support and care within our Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare facility.
Please note: Effective October 1, 2025 the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services has become the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health.
What You’ll Do- Participate in the development of treatment plans
- Charting, documentation, records, and reporting
- Organize and conduct patient group activities
- Transport patients to off‑site appointments
- Participate in appropriate interventions
This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union). Pay range: #7 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule.
Normal working hours are variable days and variable shift(s). The position is located at Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare, 1756 Sagamore Road, Northfield, Ohio.
Additional Salary / Appointment Information- Pay increase of 3% in July 2026.
- Additional $0.60 per hour shift differential for afternoon and evening shifts.
- Longevity supplement after 5 years of service.
Position receives a minimum of 17 weekends off per year per the OCSEA union contract.

QualificationsEducation and certifications:
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction and in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
- High school diploma or a certificate of high school equivalence pursuant to Ohio Administrative Code 5123:2-3-01(F)(1)(c).
- For positions at Veteran Services: STNA certification and/or listed on Ohio Nurse Aide Registry.
- If transport of motor vehicle is required, a valid driver’s license is required.
- Alternatively, equivalent minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
Required Educational Transcripts: Official transcripts are required for all post‑secondary education, coursework, or degrees listed on the application. Applicants must submit an official transcript before receiving a formal employment offer. Failure to provide transcripts within five (5) business days of the request will result in disqualification.
