Job SummaryThe Scheduler is responsible for scheduling all patient appointments for outpatient and inpatient testing and specialty appointments.
You provide the patient with all instructions needed for test preparation, directions to the facility and time and date of the appointment. You also make sure the facility is approved by the patient’s insurance carrier.
In this role, you may keep a log of outpatient tests and inform physicians if tests have not been scheduled. Documentation is important in this position as you may utilize patient charts and forms, or practice management software as needed.
You will also send physicians their schedules for the next day/weekend via email and/or fax.

Requirements- High school graduate or equivalent
- Requires working knowledge of medical terminology, third‑party billing, and referral procedures
- 2 years previous healthcare experience
