The Toddler Teacher Closer supports children during an exciting stage of development when language, independence, and social skills grow rapidly.
In this role, you will guide toddlers through play‑based learning experiences that encourage exploration, communication, and self‑confidence. You will help maintain a calm and engaging classroom environment while supporting end‑of‑day routines and transitions.
This position requires patience, consistency, and a strong understanding of toddler development, as well as close collaboration with fellow educators and families.
Responsibilities- Plan and implement activities aligned with Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards
- Create a classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and language development
- Support toddlers through daily routines including meals, diapering/toileting, rest, and transitions
- Use positive guidance strategies to support social‑emotional development
- Maintain an organized classroom with developmentally appropriate materials
- Observe and document children’s developmental progress
- Communicate regularly with families using systems such as Procare and Lillio
- Maintain classroom safety and supervision in accordance with licensing standards
- Collaborate with coworkers and leadership to support a positive team culture
- Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and professional development
- CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Experience working with toddlers or in a licensed early childhood program preferred
- Understanding of toddler development and positive behavior guidance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Professionalism and commitment to ongoing growth
- Must meet Ohio childcare licensing requirements
