Role Overview


The Preschool Teacher Closer helps maintain a calm, engaging, and developmentally rich classroom during afternoon learning and end-of-day routines.

In this role, you will guide children through play-based experiences that support curiosity, independence, and social development while ensuring the classroom remains safe, organized, and nurturing.

You will collaborate with fellow educators and leadership to uphold the high standards expected of a NAEYC-accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement lesson plans aligned with Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards

• Create a classroom environment that supports curiosity, independence, and exploration

• Supervise children actively to ensure safety and emotional well-being

• Maintain a clean, organized classroom with developmentally appropriate materials

• Integrate outdoor and nature-based learning when possible

• Observe and document children’s developmental progress

• Communicate respectfully with families using Procare and Lillio

• Maintain records including attendance and incident reports

• Collaborate with coworkers to support a positive team culture

• Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and professional development

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred

• Minimum 1 year experience in a licensed early childhood program

• Understanding of developmentally appropriate and play-based learning

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Commitment to professionalism and ongoing growth

• Must meet Ohio childcare licensing requirements
