Study Abroad Program Advisor, within Center of International Studies and Programs, will support the mission of the University of Toledo through the enrichment of the services offered through the office. This position assists student and faculty with study abroad and exchange programs. This role assists in recruiting students, faculty, and staff into learning opportunities, which enrich the collegial experience. This role has four areas of focus: (1) Advise students and support strategic partnerships, and coordinate all student exchanges and third-party provider programs, brand, market, and recruit for the Education Abroad program.
Teach in-person and on-line courses on cross cultural preparation and intercultural experience for study abroad students. (2) Manage and monitor international travel support services and programs, (3) Support faculty members in the development and implementation of faculty-led programs (4) Support Center for International Studies and Programs mission. This role strives to significantly enhance the academic experience of each program participant.
This vital role is expected to collaborate with various stakeholders’s university wide.
Master’s degree in Higher Education or closely related field.
2 years of experience working within the field of education abroad in a university setting including advising students in the planning of all aspects of a study abroad program, working with transfer credit evaluation, supporting faculty members with the development of faculty led study abroad programs and familiarity with university-level academic policy and procedures. Evidence of organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy workspace and ability to express cultural sensitivity in all aspects of the work environment is required.
