Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. This position is based in Toledo, Ohio, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a non-profit organization during a critical period. The role requires strong accounting expertise and adaptability, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Responsibilities:

- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing accrual entries and reconciling accounts.

- Assist in bank reconciliations and ensure accurate entries into the general ledger.

- Provide documentation and support during audits, acting as a liaison between auditors and the organization.

- Generate financial reports, manipulate data in Excel using formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs.

- Manage journal entries and maintain accuracy within the general ledger.

- Work with specialized accounting software, to navigate modules and input essential data.

- Collaborate with team members to address financial queries and ensure smooth operations.

- Uphold attention to detail and accuracy in all accounting tasks.

- Adapt to changing priorities and assist with various accounting duties as needed.

Requirements

- Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger accounting.

- Strong skills in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic formulas.

- Familiarity with accounting software

- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.

- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

- Patience and adaptability in working with different personalities and team dynamics.
