Electronics Mechanic LEADER Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• You will coordinate work while assuring proper inter-trade and inter-shop coordination, high levels of quality assurance with timely yet orderly job completion.
• You will demonstrate proper work methods, provide on the job training for workers, correct improper electronics work methods, and ensure assigned work procedures are being followed.
• You will ensure safe work practices and good housekeeping while assuring timely tool, equipment, material, and procedure availability.
• You will answer questions of the supervisor on overall work operations and problems.

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position requires that the selectee have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination.
• This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to climb ladders and scaffolding.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

• Ability to locate malfunctioning circuits, components, etc., using appropriate test equipment within the functional system, and to determine method of repair. Examples include:
  Diagnosing, troubleshooting and determining remedy in an electronic circuit, unit, or system.
• Ability to read, utilize, and work from complicated blueprints, diagrams, technical manuals, and electronic schematic.
• Ability to plan and execute sequence work.
• Ability to troubleshoot with instruments such as voltmeters, tube testers, oscillograph, bridges, frequency meters, etc.
• Ability to visually inspect to detect trouble.
• Ability to troubleshoot on the basis of instructional manual and drawings.
