SAIC is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to support our NAVWAR customer in Portsmouth, VA. This will be an ONSITE ROLE
.

• Performs desktop publishing for IETM development.
• Writes, rewrites, and/or edits technical documents such as operations and maintenance manuals, system administrator guides, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions.
• Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product/software developers, referring to technical specifications, engineering drawings, and DoD Instructions.
• Prepares materials in accordance with MIL-SPECs and standards.
• Conducts quality review and validation of materials.
• Supports Test and evaluation events for program milestones.

• BA degree (English, Journalism or Technical Writing) and six (6) years of experience in the technical data management of combat system acquisition and/or life-cycle programs, to include writing/editing technical documentation, procedures and guidelines for C4
  
  ISR systems or equipment; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must have an active Secret clearance.
• Experience with MS Word, Visio, and Power Point templates, section/paragraph auto-numbering, headers, footers, captions, complex tables, auto-indexing, fault logic and network diagrams, business charts, and graphs.
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat pdf conversion, linking/bookmarking, fill-in forms, digital signatures, and certificates.
• Intermediate graphics development capability.

• Background in logistics, spare parts, supply.
• Configuration management and document control process experience.
