About the JobSeeking someone interested in learning about development at a non-profit and to assist with development operations and administration while learning how to generate donations and income. This role will support our organization by assisting with donor relationships, marketing via social media and other outlets, and managing the below responsibilities. This includes managing donor databases, providing administrative support to senior staff, analyzing data to inform strategies, and eventually executing fundraising appeals.
Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills are essential for success in this collaborative role. Must excel at writing and story telling, be able to multi-task and compartmentalize. Needs to enjoy a fast pace without being overwhelmed.
- Social Media growth and outreach: Content management on all platforms, including FB, IF, Tik Tok, You Tube, X.
- Newsletters: prepare and share a quarterly newsletter about all the great happenings here.
- Donor Stewardship and Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors through communication, follow-up, and personalized outreach.
- Database Management: Manage donor databases, accurately process and record gifts, and generate reports to track progress and analyze data.
- Managing Animal Sponsorship updates and outreach.
- Administrative Duties: Provide administrative support to the development department, including gift processing, sending acknowledgments, and preparing materials.
- Website: assisting in keeping our website up to date.
- Promoting Small Weddings: Marketing our wedding venue to generate income.
- Promoting Saturday Tours: Marketing weekend tours to the public and leading educational tours, as all staff do.
- Promoting Corporate Retreats: Outreach to businesses regarding our corporate packages.
- Business to Business marketing: Outreach to businesses promoting our organization and soliciting donations.
- Online Auctions: Creating and managing a winter auction.
- Furthering our E-Commerce Platform: Marketing our online shop and better promoting our offerings.
- Fundraising Support: Assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals including 401
Gives, Giving Tuesday and Year End Campaign through content creation and outreach. - Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate fundraising events, including managing volunteers, vendors, and event logistics.
Skills & Qualifications
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for donor correspondence and internal team collaboration.
- Organization & Project Management: Strong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to multitask and manage projects effectively.
- Initiative & Proactiveness: The ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with donor management software, specifically Donor Dock (or ability to learn and retain), Microsoft Office/Google applications, our website platform, Wix (or the ability to learn and retain) and social media platforms.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and other departments.
- Interest in the Mission: A genuine interest in the organization's mission and a commitment to its goals.
Experience Preferred in this role, or transferable experience in sales, marketing, IT, development, etc.
Starting Employment Details- Work days are Thursdays through Mondays (currently T/W off). Please note that we are open 365 days year and staff have staggered days off, with the most senior staff getting one weekend day. This role is akin to being in the hospitality industry and our busiest times are the weekends.
- We do not currently have health care, but are hoping to.
- We do have access to RISavers for employee IRA contributions.
- 10 PTO days.
