Bookkeeper

Our client, a highly regarded and growing organisation, are currently seeking a Bookkeeper to join their friendly and professional team on a full-time, permanent basis.

As a Bookkeeper, you will play a key role in supporting the continued success of the professional services team, ensuring financial processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will also have a hands‑on role preparing accounts, VAT returns and general accountancy practice responsibilities for a mixed client base of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

Our client places a high value on accuracy, reliability and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach. This opportunity would suit either an individual with some bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice, or someone who has developed a strong bookkeeping background within an industry setting who is looking to make the move into practice.

• Preparation of accounts and financial statements for a wide range of clients
• Processing purchase and sales ledger transactions
• Bank reconciliations
• VAT returns
• Assisting with month‑end procedures
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Liaising with clients/suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Supporting the preparation of management accounts

• Have previous bookkeeping experience (practice or industry)
• Are confident using accounting software and Excel
• Have strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Can manage their workload effectively and meet deadlines
• Are AAT qualified or studying (desirable but not essential)
• Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team
