Job Details:

• 2.5 years of emergency department experience required

• 1 year of neuro/stroke experience required

• 2 previous travel assignments required

• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 (strive for 1:4 but may go up to 1:6 in emergent situations)

• Every other weekend requirement

• Float required within scope of practice

• 24 hours of orientation

• Must have experience with level 1 resuscitation patients

• Care for all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

• Work in 25-room, 30-bed emergency department with daily census of 92 visits

• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC (preferred)

• Must be greater than 30 miles from facility (no locals)

• Scrub color: any color, no tee shirts, sweatshirts, or logos from other organizations

• Use Meditech charting system

• Free parking in unrestricted spaces

• Holiday requirements: work 1 eve and 1-2 holidays depending on assignment length

• Strict attendance policy: 3 call outs result in termination

• Schedule changes may occur with 48 hours notice

• RTO limited to 10 days maximum with 2-week extension required

• Pre-start modules required (4 hours average, non-billable)

• May need to precept students and new staff members

This 210-bed acute care hospital operates as both a STEMI Center and Primary Stroke Center, providing comprehensive emergency and trauma services. The facility features a Level I trauma center with specialized capabilities in neuro-trauma, pediatric emergency care, and advanced cardiac services. The emergency department maintains modern equipment and interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
