Job Details:

• 2.5 years of emergency department experience required

• 1 year of neuro/stroke experience required

• 2 previous travel assignments required

• Patient ratios of 1:5-6

• Every other weekend requirement

• Float required within scope of practice

• 24 hours of orientation

• Must have experience with level 1 resuscitation patients

• Care for patients of all ages: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

• Daily census of 92 patients with 25 rooms and 30 beds

• Charting system:
Meditech

• Scrub color:
Any (no tee shirts, sweatshirts, or logos from other organizations)

• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC (preferred)

• Skills include STEMI and stroke care, trauma management, ventilated patient care, triage, and emergency procedures

• Holiday requirement:
Work 1 eve and 1-2 holidays depending on number of holidays during assignment

• Strict attendance policy: 3 call outs result in termination

• Schedule changes may occur with 48 hours notice

• RTO limited to 10 days maximum with additional 2 weeks added to assignment

• Must be greater than 30 miles from facility (no local travelers)

• Non-billable modules required pre-start (approximately 4 hours)

This acute care hospital features 210 staffed beds and operates as both a STEMI Center and Primary Stroke Center. The facility provides comprehensive emergency services with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The emergency department maintains high standards for trauma care and stroke management, offering advanced procedures like t-PA administration and requiring staff to maintain expertise in critical care interventions.
