The ML2 Project involves the design and construction of a launch platform for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The purpose of ML2, located at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), is to provide a launch platform for the Space Launch System (SLS), an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America’s need for deep space missions. ML2 includes many different subsystems that must operate and fit within the constraints of the structure and provide physical interface with KSC launch sites’ ground systems.
Job Summary:In this role, you will utilize your experience, knowledge, and expertise to perform required testing for facility commissioning and startup. You will participate in building test packages, assist in turnover coordination, equipment inspections, material management and quantities, quality control, and environmental safety and health. The Electrical Commissioning Engineer will support plant start-up and commissioning processes. This position will manage electrical commissioning for their assigned systems and drive it to completion/handover.
This will require coordinating with mechanical, instrumentation and control systems disciplines within the startup organization to complete all required testing from component level through integrated operation with the rest of the facility.
- Complete testing per Bechtel Corporate Standard Test and Commissioning Procedures (STCP) and Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPP), project-specific, and other procedures. Review completed test records, data sheets, procedures etc. to assure the requirements being met, including subcontractors test submittals.
- Analyze assigned activities to determine the scope, time, and resource requirements.
- Plan and schedule CSU execution activities including sequence and resource requirements for assigned areas of responsibility typically including complex evolution across multiple disciplines and functions.
- Prepare test packages, reviewing engineering design, and vendor submittals.
- Coordinate with Construction, other Commissioning disciplines, and Engineering to complete all required testing and support component/system turnover
- Coordinate with and provide direction to supplier Technical Advisors (TA) to complete commissioning of vendor supplied equipment. Monitor supplier TA activities to ensure proper time charging. Plan work accordingly and control the expenditure of TA time to stay within the budget constraints for each PO, Report and document work activities on a daily basis, in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Provide input to engineering on revisions required to system descriptions, vendor operating and maintenance manuals, etc. based on review of documents during development of the preoperational test procedures and executing of the commissioning to ensure all such documents are consistent;
- Prepare the necessary design change and non-conformance documents in accordance with Bechtel procedures as required to document as-built conditions and/or properly resolve deficiencies.
- Perform live electrical work in accordance with corporate procedures and guidance.
