About the Role
At LC Waikiki, fabric is the foundation of every collection. As a Fabric Technologist, you play a critical role in ensuring that all fabrics meet brand standards in quality, performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability. You work closely with Design, Product Development, Quality, and suppliers to guarantee that materials are technically sound and commercially viable.

Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and approve fabric developments according to performance, durability, hand feel, and brand standards.
Review fabric test reports (physical, chemical, colorfastness, shrinkage, pilling, etc.) and ensure compliance with internal and international quality standards.
Collaborate with mills and suppliers to improve fabric construction, finishing techniques, and performance results.
Monitor bulk production fabrics to ensure consistency with approved standards.
Support Designers and Product Developers in fabric selection aligned with trend direction and target cost.
Identify potential risks in fabric performance and provide proactive technical solutions.
Ensure compliance with sustainability and chemical regulations (RSL, eco-standards, etc.).
Participate in fit sessions and garment evaluations where fabric behavior impacts product performance.
Maintain fabric libraries, technical files, and testing documentation.
Continuously research new fabric innovations, finishes, and sustainable material developments.

Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, or related field.
Strong knowledge of fabric construction (woven, knit, denim, jersey, etc.) and finishing processes.
Solid understanding of textile testing standards and quality control systems.
Experience working with mills and suppliers, preferably in a fast-fashion environment.
Knowledge of sustainability standards and restricted substance regulations.
Knowledge on fabric costing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and follow-up abilities.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
